Emergency!

Quite possibly my favorite show of all time: Emergency!

"The show centers around Station 51 and Rampart Emergency Hospital. Station 51 contains a squad and an engine (the station has had both a Crown and a Ward LaFrance) with a normal crew of six, two of which are paramedics. The show begins with the pilot movie showing the paramedic program in its infancy, before legislation is in effect to allow the paramedics to function independently. It follows the characters of paramedics John Gage and Roy DeSoto to the point when they are promoted to captain. Most episodes were split between rescue scenes in "the field" and follow-up treatment at the hospital afterward...Emergency! originally aired between 1972 and 1977 on NBC.

1981 American Airlines Ad

I don't think the pilot's uniforms have changed much in the past 25 years.

Deep America

Just spent a day in Kansas (and Missouri) during preparations for the Banquet 500 at the Kansas Motor Speedway. My travel ain't glamorous, but it is way more interesting than most jobs I can think of.

9th Ward, New Orleans, LA Aug 28/06 - Part 4

9th Ward, New Orleans, LA Aug 28/06 - Part 3

A number of networks are using this house on Tennesee St. as a backdrop for their live shots.

9th Ward, New Orleans, LA Aug 28/06 - Part 2

The water and wind ripped a hole in the side of the house, but clothing remained on the hangers. Of course someone could have placed them there post-storm, but a strange site nonetheless.

9th Ward, New Orleans, LA Aug 28/06

It sounds extremely cliche, but these pictures don't even start to show the conditon of the 9th Ward in New Orleans, one year after Katrina. More to be posted later today & tonight.

Barbados - Cherry Tree Hill

Apparently this is quite a famous place (for the view at least), but we knew nothing about it. What a great surprise.

Arrrgghhhhhhh. Look on Flickr for the photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jayking/

I can't seem to upload photos here right now.

Barbados - North West and North Side

During our tour of the island, we found the north west and northern part of the island to be a lot more lush and green, as opposed to where we staying that was kind of scrubby and rocky.

I think if we ever make the trip back, we might stay closer to this area, near a place called Holetown.

Barbados - Enormous Sparrows

The birds were huge.

Actually, they were just very tame.

Barbados - Sunset

The sunset looking "away" from the beach on our last night (taken through a window).

Barbados - East Coast

The locals say that they sea "kisses" the west coast of the island. As for the east coast...it appears to be a more violent relationship.

Barbados - Hilton Resort

This was the view from the balcony of our hotel room. We were staying at the Hilton Barbados.

Views of Manhattan from Jersey City

I snapped these pictures from the roof of 525 Washington Ave., Jersey City, NJ.
